New Place, New Favorite

So after a morning of non stop chaos, since its a Sunday and no one likes crazy Sundays, we finally decided to grab some food and just relax. My mom and I noticed that there was this new place that we had not tried and the name was what attracted our attention. The Broken Yolk Cafe was the name and it was down the street from our house in Spring, TX. We went in not really knowing what was going on or what to expect but it definitely was worth it!

The Broken Yolk – Spring, TX

Entrance and Atmosphere

The outside of the building was very modern and shiny with a covered patio area for if you wanted to melt in the Houston heat. The inside however gave this vibe of California surf with bright, pastel colors and the food smelled amazing! Restrooms where available and an open kitchen concept was adapted so that you could see the action going on.

Staff

The staff was super friendly and quick to seat us. Their smiles welcomed us warmly and everything about the service was great.

Food

The wait was a bit long BUT nothing crazy where it bothers you or makes this place bad. The food came out super hot and fresh and the sweet potato fries were to die for! I got a California wrap while my mom got a club sandwich. My wrap was great BUT i felt that it needed a BIT more tangy sauce they had put in it. The diced veggies really overpowered the taste of the sauce and that was my ONLY minor issue. The chicken was seasoned very well and the avocado in there was amazing! I have had wraps before but this one definitely was filling and so good! My moms sandwich was also a great pick! Toasted bread with a whole bunch of ham and cheese and other goodies that made our mouths water! It DID NOT taste old or like your middle school lunch sandwiches…this was fresh!!! They definitely aren’t stingy with their portions so that was another bonus!

Overall

8.5/10 And Recommended! – Why if it was AMAZING? Well, for a place that is semi new here it is amazing and the food is amazing as well but there is always room for improvements. I loved the taste just a minor miss with the wrap and the sauce but other than that amazing. Lets also keep in mind that 10 is ABSOLUTELY perfect and that is very hard to accomplish.
